I was born in Argentina and I was born armenian. Both my maternal and paternal family migrated due to persecution caused by ethnic cleansing, which began with the 1915 Armenian genocide. Eight years ago, I began to travel regularly to Armenia to understand my family history and develop a deeper bond with my roots. In the process I began to see that the environment in which children are born and raised is critical to their development. In the case of children living in Armenia, as in other countries in conflict, the geopolitical situation conditions their childhood and their aspirations for the future. In this work I observe the relationship that Armenian children have with the war, how the normalization of violence and nationalist sentiments have modified their play spaces. Children are universal and universal is their desire to play, are they free when it comes to playing? or we are the adults who condition them?
